It's easy to find Volkswagen car parts because of the enduring popularity of the brand.
History of the Volkswagen Auto
The first Volkswagen Beetle was engineered by legendary auto engineer Ferdinand Porsche in the late 1930s. The outbreak of World War II curtailed commercial production, and the VW factory started manufacturing vehicles for the German army. After the war ended, the plant continued to make military vehicles, this time for the occupying British.
The Beetle was introduced to America in 1949. Initial sales were slow, but a strong advertising campaign helped boost production to the one million mark by 1955. Now one of the world's largest auto manufacturers, Volkswagen has introduced several models since the original Beetle, including the Rabbit, Jetta, Passat and a reinvention of the Beetle in the 1990s.
Replacement Volkswagen Car Parts
Due to its popularity in the United States, replacement car components are readily available. Several online retailers specialize in German cars, and most stores will have some standard parts available. Volkswagen A/C parts are also easy to find for models made in the last two decades.
Air conditioning components for the classic Beetle are harder to find. Air conditioning was not standard in the original Beetle. Many car owners have had A/C systems installed. People who have purchased a vintage Beetle with an air conditioning system installed can find replacements, although they will have to identify which system was installed.
A-Air sells replacement parts for A/C systems for a variety of Volkswagen models, including the new Beetle, the Golf, the Passat, the Fox and the Rabbit.
